The Faculty of Cognitive Science, the only one in Italy, is the newest Faculty at the University of Trento. It is situated in the eighteenth century town of Rovereto, 25km from Trento.
The courses carried out at present are the three-year degree in Sciences and Techniques of Applied Cognitive Psychology, analogous to a B.A. course, and the specialist degree in Cognitive Science, analogous to a M.A. course. The Faculty also contributes to the Specialization School of Secondary Teaching (SSIS) and to the PhD School in Cognitive Science and Education.
Courses have a strong interdisciplinary feature, and are especially focused on cognitive psychology, experimental and clinical neuroscience, communication, behaviour science and education. It aims to address a wider number of future students, not only creating future psychcologists, but also cognitivists, researchers of artificial intelligence and decision making experts.
Teachers from well-known international research centres in cognitive science, such as Harvard University (USA), Umea (Sweden) and Tübingen (Germany) also teach at the Faculty.
The administration offices for the Faculty of Cognitive Science are located in Palazzo Todeschi, Via Tartarotti, Rovereto. Courses are held mainly at the Trade Center, where you'll also find the secretary office of degree courses and the Department of Cognitive Science and Education.
The University library is located in the city Library, just next to the Mart, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto.
