Overview

Natural perception enables us to identify a wide range of qualities of objects. The current research project is based on a series of perceptual experiments which are part of an exploratory work carried out to analyse qualitative aspects in perception.

One focus of the research is to identify underlying (and unknown) aspects of qualities that can be evaluated and quantified by means of statistical methods.

Another purpose of the research is to test whether the general population exhibits cross-modal associations between complex stimuli of two different modalities.
Therefore, the ultimate aim of the research is to develop specific methods for measuring and modelling the subjective qualities of experience.
