Purpose and Criteria
The Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science (DiPSCo) aims to enhance the commitment of faculty members who stand out for the quality of their academic teaching and their dedication to student well-being and learning. It also seeks to build a shared vision of teaching quality within the student community.
The award recognizes participatory, inclusive, and effective teaching practices, specifically focusing on the ability to: define clear educational objectives, promote active and collaborative learning, encourage autonomy and critical thinking, design assessments consistent with learning goals, provide constructive feedback, show respect and attention to the ideas, contributions, and educational needs of students.
Eligibility
Candidates must be DiPSCo faculty members who, during the relevant academic year, have carried out at least 3 ECTS (CFU) of teaching activities in the Department's Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs.
To ensure transparency, impartiality, and individual freedom, the following are excluded: faculty members holding positions incompatible with the evaluation process and faculty members who have opted out of the candidacy.
Application Process
Nominations are proposed by students currently enrolled in DiPSCo courses via an online form.
Students have the right to nominate one or more professors from the courses of the current academic year.
Each nomination must be submitted by one student and supported by at least three others. The procedure consists of two steps:
- form submission: only one person should fill out the form available on this page until July 10, 2026;
- email support: at least three (or more) other supporting students must send a confirmation email to premiodidattica.dipsco@unitn.it using their institutional email addresses (name.surname@studenti.unitn.it).
Selection and Recognition
Nominated professors are invited to submit a brief description of their teaching approach.
A committee composed of faculty, students, and external experts evaluates the candidates based on the quality criteria defined by the Regulations.
The award consists of the symbolic title of "Excellence in Teaching" - no monetary prize - and will be presented during an official ceremony.
