The research in this field aims to develop knowledge that can be used to improve social inclusion processes, health prevention, and promotion. Its objective is to refine training methodologies, educational practices, and social rehabilitation intervention techniques, supporting the acquisition of autonomy in daily life, with the ultimate goal of maximum social participation, removal of marginalization, and improvement of conditions of dysfunction, disability, dependence, and fragility in individuals, groups, and communities.
The activities revolve around two laboratories:
The Experiential Learning LAB conducts research on the development of relational skills, with a particular focus on the field of professional education, through exercises (reality simulations, group work, role-playing, etc.) aimed at promoting active cognitive learning in participants, not only on an intellectual level but also on an emotional, behavioral, and affective level. The use of spaces and technological equipment allows for the observation and self-assessment of non-verbal communication, as well as the production of multimedia materials for the dissemination of innovative training content and methodologies.
The Observation, Diagnosis, and Training Laboratory (ODFLab) is involved in the rehabilitation of neurodevelopmental disorders, through the application of innovative interventions based on technologies (e.g., serious games and virtual reality). It also focuses on promoting health and social inclusion through specific training programs on neurodevelopmental disorders for teachers at all levels of education.
